A medicinal chemistry specialisation opens a diverse range of career pathways across pharmaceutical industry, contract research, computational science, and academia. Medicinal chemists design and synthesise novel drug candidates within pharmaceutical and biotechnology company discovery divisions, working in close collaboration with pharmacologists, structural biologists, and computational chemists throughout the discovery process.
